Rap Beefs Of The New Decade

Rap beefs are starting to die out in the new decade, but there are still some that linger on this fight for the top position in the rap world.

One of the most current yet ongoing beefs include Cash Money/Young Money records’ star, Lil’ Wayne. And the Rocafella mogul, Jay-Z.

This beef can actually start way back in 2004 when Jay-Z’s self-proclaimed retirement from the rap game came on full force. Lil’ Wayne then took it upon himself to proclaim that he was in fact the “best rapper alive since the best rapper retired”.

Throughout the years, this became more and more apparent as Jay-Z even came out with his 2006 album, “Kingdom Come”.

As of recently, the “Watch The Throne” album came out with Jay-Z and Kanye West selling over 436,000 in a week. Baby, CEO of Cash Money Records, proclaimed that Lil’ Wayne was the best because “he do the most and make the most money”. However, Jay-Z said this was not the case due to his lucrative standing in a number of different business ventures.

Lil’ Wayne latest album, “Tha Carter IV” sold over 900,000 copies in it’s first week. Thus, fueling the fire for the beef.
